GREATER HOUSTON COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES, Principal. Fourth generation Texan and a native Houstonian.  Tom attended Texas Tech University and The University of Houston studying engineering and business. He spent 6 years in the US Marine Corps.  After entering the real estate industry in 1971 Tom specialized in land development, site selection and acquisition and overall brokerage for clients.  In 1992, he and Carl Triola founded Greater Houston Commercial Properties specializing in leasing and brokerage of commercial properties.  Tom and his wife of 42 years reside in Ft. Bend County.  He has two married sons who also reside in Ft. Bend County.

MRS. JACKIE WILCOX - SECRETARY

Jackie Vaughan-Wilcox is Business Development Manager for Stewart Title, her main areas of focus are Fort Bend County, the Katy area and Brazoria. Her client base is Commercial, Builder and Developer. Jackie has been with Stewart Title for 10 years and her 30-plus-year career has spanned from the Utility Business, to Economic Development, to marketing Master Planned Communities as well as marketing for one of the nations top 10 builders. Jackie serves on the Board of Directors of the Sales & Marketing Council for the Greater Houston Builder Association, she also serves on the Executive Committee as secretary for the Fort Bend Society of Commercial Realtors. She served on committees for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for 17 years and was Vice Chairman of the Group Ticket Committee. She is currently a member of Houston Association of Realtors, the Katy Area Economic Development Council, a trustee for the Fort Bend Economic Development Council, a member of CCIM, as well as CREN.

 

MR. PETER JACOB – TREASURER

G. Peter Jacob, one of three principals of, Weaver, Davis & Jacob Realty Group, L.L.C., has twenty five years of commercial real estate experience in the leasing, development, property management, construction management, and disposition of retail properties.

Prior to the creation of Weaver, Davis & Jacob Realty Group, L.L.C., Peter was the Director of Retail Leasing for Sugarland Properties Incorporated (SPI). SPI is the master plan developer of First Colony, a 10,000 acre residential and commercial development located in Sugar Land, Texas. Peter was responsible for developing and leasing retail shopping centers in First Colony as well as selling available land sites in the SPI portfolio for various retail uses. During his time with SPI, 177,000 square feet of retail space was developed and leased generating over $22 million dollars of rental income and sold 42 acres of land worth $24.6 million dollars.

While employed by CB Commercial-Houston, Peter was responsible for the property management of a 2.0 million square foot real estate portfolio of retail, office and industrial properties located throughout Houston. In addition to the day-to-day tasks associated with property management, Peter was also actively involved in the business development program for the Houston office. In 1995, Peter was the recipient of the “Exceptional Performance By A Real Estate Manager Award”. This award is presented by senior management to the top Real Estate Manager throughout CB Commercial’s nationwide system who demonstrates the highest standard of performance as a member of the professional staff.

Peter’s real estate experience also includes various senior management positions over a ten-year period while at Trammell Crow Company-Houston. During his tenure with Trammell Crow Company, Peter along with a full compliment of support staff, oversaw the management of various product types including retail shopping centers, office buildings and industrial projects for institutional owners such as GE Investments, Texas Commerce Bank, Mass Mutual and the Resolution Trust Corporation. 

Peter graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He earned his Texas Real Estate Brokers license in 1987, the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1991, is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is currently an affiliate member of CCIM.

  

MRS. MARY GAYLE BRINDLEY – SPONSOR CHAIR

Mary Gayle Brindley has been involved in banking in Fort Bend County since 1978. Currently, she is Vice President of Amegy Bank of Texas, Sugar Land office, where she primarily devotes her time to marketing and business development for the commercial lending group.

Mary Gayle was the first woman elected president of the Fort Bend Chamber Of Commerce. She received the chamber’s President‘s Award for volunteer achievement and a lifetime membership recognizing her work in membership sales. She is former president and still serves as director of the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, as well as member of the Board of Directors of the Women Contractors Association.  She is also a founding member and former president of the Fort Bend Professional Women. 

A former elementary school teacher, Brindley holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas at Austin and is a longtime resident of Sugar Land, Fort Bend County. 

 

MRS. KELLY FERGUSON – COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Kelly has been involved in commercial real estate investment and development since 2003. Prior to joining Fort Bend Real Estate Corporation, Kelly worked for Merrill Lynch, where she facilitated investments in high yield commercial real estate debt and equity secured by institutional properties. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in Finance and is currently working on her CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. Kelly is involved with the Fort Bend Society of Commercial Realtors, where she serves as Director of Community Relations. Kelly serves as a Court Appointed Advocate with Child Advocates, Inc., for children in custody of the Department of Family and Protective Services.

 

DR. JOHN NOVAK - PAST PRESIDENT

John has been with Curtice Commercial Real Estate for the past five years. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist by training and retired from his private practice in Sugar Land and Southwest Houston after twenty two years of serving his community. Over his career he taught full and part time pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston at both the Graduate and the Undergraduate levels. Part of his graduate student responsibilities included teaching courses in office design, site selection, obtaining financing, creating business plans, and operating a successful small business (dental practice).    This same career experience and education serves to benefit John’s clients on a daily basis as his specialty is medical, dental and health related clients.  Needless to say, he is a unique asset to Curtice Commercial Real Estate.

John is a strong believer in education.   He has completed a number of real estate courses, including a recent CCIM course. He is currently a member of the Fort Bend Society of Commercial Real Estate, the Fort Bend Economic Development Council, and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.

John holds a BS and a DMD from the University of Pittsburgh, also a MS and clinical specialty certificate from University of Texas/Texas Children’s Hospital. He is part of only seventeen percent of Pediatric Dentists who are Board Certified.

Dr. Novak has been involved with many non-profit community groups; including serving as President of the Fort Bend Education Foundation, serving on the Board of Child Advocates of Fort Bend, the Fort Bend YMCA, The Fort Bend Children’s Museum, and numerous other child related groups. He also coached thirteen seasons of youth soccer.

John calls Sugar Land home along with his wife Candy, daughter Jenny and son Peter. His favorite hobbies are traveling, photography, and sampling good wines.
